When he was four years old, Simeon saw Yo Yo Ma perform on television and decided right then that he would be a cellist. Simeon loves to fiddle on the cello and jokes that he actually plays the "meddle" or "feddlo". In addition to their Celtic repertoire, he enjoys playing Baroque music, and finds an affinity between the music of Bach and the Highlands.
Simeon also plays the Bodhran for the group. The beat of this traditional goat-skin drum gives a driving energy to the trio's more upbeat pieces.
In addition to his music and a demanding day job, Simeon is also pursuing his bachelor's degree.
To wind down, Simeon and his wife, Kristin, love to spend time together snowboarding, golfing, or just hanging out with friends.
