Welcome to the Blacksmith's. Up until the industrial revolution, blacksmiths were a vital part of almost every community. Their craft supported other tradesmen as well as homemakers. They would fabricate saws, horseshoes, nails, axes, ploughs, knives, wagon parts, barrel hoops, iron tires... the list could go on and on.
Although 20th Century factories and mass production have replaced the village blacksmith, the alchemy of fire, muscle, metal and water continues to fascinate. Dedicated hobbyists and artists carry on this ancient craft and work to preserve it for future generations.
