Alex is the harpist of the group. He also plays the bones (a traditional percussive instrument originally made from the rib bones of cattle). Playing the bones has always helped Alex feel connected to his roots. He first learned the technique from his Grandpa Bud.
When not playing music, Alex likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible. He is a talented gardener and is always looking for new plants to adopt.
Alex is also kept busy by his growing family. His two sons("Little" Alex and Noah)are always trying to be like their Daddy: getting their hands either in the dirt or on the harp strings whenever they can.
In 2006, Alex received his bachelor's degree in Russian. He hopes to begin dental school this coming September.
